Greetings!
Welcome to my website. The purpose of my site is to give you an update on
what I’m writing.
Do you ever read The Hub? It is a local online newspaper that goes to print once a week in the Denver Post. I’ve posted 2 articles:
HR authors take NY by storm
and A funny thing happened on the road to recovery.
The editor liked my stories, and even quoted me in the editorial section.
An article that I’ve titled “Are ya kidding me?” is published in The Voices of Breast Cancer anthology. The launch date is
October 16, 2007. For more information, visit The Healing Project. This organization is
putting together the anthology. My essay tells what it’s like to be diagnosed with DCIS (ductal carcinoma in situ) and the lessons I learned while
going through treatment. After the initial shock, I had a choice to make: I could either feel sorry for my myself or I could tackle the disease head-on.
You can find out which path I selected by reading the article, which I must say is laugh-out-loud funny.
My first article, “I Now Understand”, was published in The Voices of Lung Cancer anthology, in May of 2007. In this story, I explore my
confusion with my mother-in-law's behavior after she was diagnosed with lung cancer. It took a few years and my own bout with cancer before I began
to understand that she wanted what all cancer patients want. You can find out what she was seeking by reading the article.
I’m currently finishing up writing the full chronicle of my adventures with breast cancer. It is a candid look at everything that happens once the
diagnosis has been made through the next year. It is full of wry wit and hope. I’m still looking for a publisher for this story.
I’m also shopping around an action adventure short story. It is about two boys looking for treasure in southwest Colorado.
Finally, I entered my murder mystery in the Tony Hillerman Writing Contest. While I may not win, at least it was a push to get me to finish editing
the manuscript!
Thanks for reading!
